Hi people,
There is a probably a million reasons why Office 2010 will fail to install. In this case it was because the update required the language packs for German, Spanish and French.
Re-download the update and select these lanaguges including English and it should resolve your issues.

ReplyDeleteHow did you find this work around? It has been plaguing me for weeks. I have dug through installer logs, SCCM logs (on both the client and the server) and MSI logs to no avail. I ran across your post through another forum and decided to give it a shot.

ReplyDeleteI am glad that it’s helped you. It got me for a couple of days too. I had a similar issue with .Net 4 too. I'm no genius. I actually think I found the solution online.
This solution didn’t make sense to me because I have only deployed the English version of Office 2010. But it fixed my issues.

Thank you for posting this link on my question over at TechNet. One of the first things I did was check to make sure the English content was selected and downloaded as I had had a similar problem with .Net 4.0 a few months ago... I guess Microsoft must have changed some requriements for some reason. Nice to be told eh?
